ECO-DIVERSITY

FREE industry recognised qualification

The waste/resource management sector is a huge and fast growing industry. It has tripled in size in the past 15 years. This means more job opportunities, right now and in the future, and people with the right skills will have a head start for a rewarding long-term carrier.

As the waste/resource sector continues to grow, the key challenges for stakeholders are to enhance the diversity of the workforce and opportunities within the sector. Action for Community & Environment (ACE) has come together with Wamitab (Waste Management Industry Training Advisory Board) to provide FREE industry recognized qualification in environmental and resource management to diverse communities, starting the pilot scheme in London.

We have set an ambitious target to make FREE training opportunity available to a thousand candidates by 2016. To achieve this, we need support from all stakeholders- the businesses community, local authorities, faith groups and the third sector.
